Remember the Coca Cola slogan “Coke adds life”?
Coke has had some masterful advertising campaigns (Have a Coke and a Smile! and Coke is it! ) and some epic disasters too (New Coke was an almost fatal “Slam Fail”). The barely memorable “Coke adds life” campaign didn’t do much for me. But this “Coke Life” commercial from Argentina wins the prize.
Now that is refreshing!
I like the tagline at the end: Destapa tu Naturaleza. There’s something lost in translation with “Uncover your nature,” which is literally what it says. I find that natural tone fitting for the message conveyed by this commercial — e.g., the natural occurrence of having children, the natural things toddlers do, the nature of a young household we’re all familiar with. And nature is about things that grow, like children.
Now, if I were to see a green Coke in the store I would probably think, I am not buying that. I mean, the Real Thing is supposed to be red, not green, right?
But after watching this ad, I just might pick one up if I saw it. It’s good to see companies transmitting positive values in their advertisements. I find it refreshing.
