In exchange for dropping all appeals, abortion practitioner Kermit
Gosnell was spared death row.
It may seem ironic, but it’s really just human nature. Given the choice, a man naturally chooses life when his own life is at stake. The very reflection on the value of one’s own life is the basis for knowing that taking the life of another human being is wrong. Yet Kermit Gosnell would never admit that killing live-born children by snipping their necks with scissors and instructing his employees to do the same was wrong.
It’s not ironic. It’s just plain sad that abortion industry cannot own up to their own crimes against humanity. While Planned Parenthood and NARAL both distanced themselves from the convicted murderer, their statements ignore the crimes for which he was convicted. Planned Parenthood spokesman Eric Ferrero willingly disregards the obvious slaughter of innocent children in his statement:
“This verdict will ensure that no woman is victimized by Kermit Gosnell ever again. This case has made clear that we must have and enforce laws that protect access to safe and legal abortion, and we must reject misguided laws that would limit women’s options and force them to seek treatment from criminals like Kermit Gosnell.”
NARAL spokesman Ilyse Houge’s statement takes one step further beyond denial and shifts the blame for murder on Pro-Life politicians and advocates.
Justice was served to Kermit Gosnell today and he will pay the price for the atrocities he committed. We hope that the lessons of the trial do not fade with the verdict. Anti-choice politicians, and their unrelenting efforts to deny women access to safe and legal abortion care, will only drive more women to back-alley butchers like Kermit Gosnell.
The lessons of the trial that were lost on Ferrero and Hogue are that the abortionist catch phrase that abortion should be “safe and legal” is nothing but a slogan. In reality, their refusal to face the facts insures that abortion continues to be unsafe and in many cases illegal.
Planned Parenthood condemns itself with its own remarks, since just last month one of its facilities in Delaware was forced to close after “botching multiple abortions on women and facing a state investigation.”
While Planned Parenthood is earnest about keeping abortion legal, they don’t have the best track record when it comes to keeping it safe (as if murder were ever safe). And if anyone starts inquiring into the issue, the “safe and legal” slogan takes a back seat to their covering their own hide. Nothing safe or legal about their behavior in this video, certainly not concerned with the woman’s safety who filmed the incident.
That is the lesson learned from the Gosnell trial: This is the abortion industry. Brutal disregard for woman’s health, utter disregard for life, bent on killing innocent children at all costs. Unsanitary, unsafe, inhuman. All Funded by your taxpayer dollars, thanks in large part to this man.
Hopefully, the lessons learned from the Gosnell trial will have shed more light on criminal practices in abortion industry and its coverup. If 12 random citizens can see the murder of innocent children for what it is and convict the man guilty of it, perhaps more people will begin to see through Planned Parenthood’s dissembling and denial in the face of these brutal facts.
Even if Planned Parenthood and NARAL continue to avoid the truth and deceive the public in these matters, they are right that a great victory was won for women and children in this country: Justice has been served.
